#soulsaturday This week's RIDDIM & GROOVE classic is: "(If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don't Wanna Be Right" by Luther Ingram (Koko Rec., 1972). After a string of unsuccessful songs, the Jackson, TN native Luther Ingram later signed with Koko Records, a tiny independent label that was later on distributed by Stax. "If Loving You Is Wrong" became Ingram's soulful smah hit which he also performed at the Watstax festival. Although covered by several artists like Rod Stewart or Millie Jackson, no other version of this title ever reached the intimacy of the original recording. Enjoy your week-end with lots of S-O-U-L!
