#45friday ("Mafia", 1975)

This week's RIDDIM & GROOVE classic tune is "Mafia" by Lloyd Parks (Parks, 1975). After being part of several bands such as The Termites, with whom he recorded the famous "Do The Rocksteady" LP on Studio One, Lloyd Parks started a solo career in the early 1970s. "Mafia" is one of his signiture hits and was originally released on his own label. Aside from being a reknown vocalist and singer, Parks was also famous for his instrumental skills playing bass. As a studio musician he backed numerous Reggae greats like Dennis Brown, The Abyssinians, Culture or Prince Far I. Enjoy this classic cut as the peferct start into the Pentecost weekend.
